I saw this posted and had to repost.
If I think society gives more dignity to the label "white" than the label "African American" am I being denied civil rights because they give me a different label? How about "male" and "female?" It's semantics. This is nothing like what we fought for.
That's gold.

The gist of this comment was highlighted in a very special Barbara Walters special tonight: The pregnant man. A woman had her breasts removed, legally changed her sex to male, and began taking testosterone, but kept her ovaries, etc. Then her technically not-a-lesbian partner used donated sperm to inseminate her/him. The gist of the story was that everyone is human and should be able to define themselves as they please. Prop 8 is irrelevant if a woman can just declare herself a man.
